Housed Bearings

Housed Bearings or sometimes referred to as Self Lube Bearing Units are deep groove ball bearings that are encased in housings of various shapes and materials.

Housed bearings provide simple and effective bearing arrangements capable of accommodating moderate initial misalignment from mounting errors. They are easily mounted onto commercial shafting and are particularly useful where fabricated machine frames are employed.

The units are available in a variety of pillow block and flange mounted configurations with one piece cast iron, two piece pressed steel or even thermpoplastic housings. The inserts are wide inner ring ball bearings that are effectively and efficiently sealed. Simple fitting onto standard shafting is provided for by means of eccentric locking collar, set screws or adapter sleeve. Stainless steel inserts are also available for wash down applications when used in food processing, pharmaceutical, bottling plants or fisheries.

The reliability, simplicity and ease of assembly of items in the housed bearing range has resulted in their popularity for agricultural, extraction and construction machinery as well as process and automation equipment.
