Spherical Roller Bearings

The assortment of Spherical Roller Bearings is the widest on the market and includes standard bearings and application specific bearings. Almost all spherical roller bearings are available with either a cylindrical or tapered bore. The assortment of bearings includes standard open bearings, sealed bearings, optional internal clearances and bearings for demanding applications like vibrating screens or exciters.

Spherical roller bearings are designed to work in applications where severe misalignment exists, whether from mounting or shaft deflection and with relatively heavy radial loads and some axial loads in either direction. They are also extremely resistant to shock loads and their self-aligning feature allows full capacity loading despite shaft deflection. 

Similar in principal to self-aligning double row ball bearings, the spherical roller bearing is designed to be even more robust by carrying heavier loads but at the compromise of lower operating speeds. They have barrel shaped rollers between the inner ring, which has two raceways, and the outer ring which has one spherical raceway. They are self-aligning because the center of curvature of the outer ring raceway surface coincides with the bearing axis.

Pressed steel and machined brass cages are typically used due to the robust nature of the applications.
